Hope you are enjoying the Fifa World Cup, for me it is a pleasure to go out and have all the cinemas and shops empty while you watch your teams
I’ve been getting suggestions all these days, and it is clear that all of you prefer to have the Panda Challenge happening during the weekend.
So the 1st challenge will take place on July, Saturday 17th, at 9:00 AM (Spanish time, GMT+2). The solution has to be provided before Monday 19th (July) at 17:00. The 2nd challenge will take place on July, Saturday 24th, at 9:00 AM (Spanish time, GMT+2). The solution has to be provided before Monday 26th (July) at 17:00.
The first challenge has been prepared by Gadix. He will give you a game and you’ll have to make a “keyfile” to be able to play the game.
The second challenge has been prepared by Joxean, who also participated in last year’s challenge. This time he will give you a program and you’ll have to find a “valid license” for it
I will publish updates during the celebration of the challenges in Twitter using the hashtag #PC2010

first to submit wins?
Only if the answer is the right one
Yes, the first submitting the right solution wins the iPad.
Fail for having the challenge during The Next Hope
It’s only 1 of the challenges, the other one is a week later.
these code challenges are great. Sure wish my brother were still alive, he loved this sort of thing. Keep ‘em coming Panda.
Is there a Tweet or webpage that keeps track of all these great challenges all over the net. I am having a hard time tracking down all challeges. Would be great if someone had a page with the current hacking challages/CTF/games.
The contest is open to all countries?…I live in Cuba…
Hi Alvaro,
It is open to everyone, but in case you win, it’s going to be hard to send you the iPad. If Cuba were free it would be easier
We’ll figure out something.
Cheers,
Luis
Luis, is not so hard, DHL works in Cuba. I will be happy if someone from Cuba wins the iPad.
Cheers,
Another cuban
Cool! But aren’t there controls? I mean, if you buy electronic stuff from outside E.U., the one receiving the package has to pay some taxes. And you know better than me that money is one of the many things that are very rare over there
Yes, everything in Cuba is controlled, this is not the exception. I don’t really know wich is the policy regarding electronic devices, but DHL should know.
will the binary links + submission email be posted on here or on twitter? (i hope this page)
The binary and email will be announced here, don’t worry
Where are the binaries ??
I have just published it, at 9GMT+2 as announced: http://pandalabs.pandasecurity.com/panda-challenge-2010-edition-1st-challenge-up/
