No, it is not that Panda is hiring people to work in those countries… It’s just that cyber-crime always finds new ways to surprise me. This time through a new scam we have recently detected…
The format is more or less the same as always: a well-written, plain-text email in perfect English… As for the job offer itself, nothing new either: A fantastic position with an excellent salary just for doing some simple tasks for which no particular training or experience is required.
Then… why is this new scam so special? Well, what really strikes me is the fact that they are offering jobs in “Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Qatar, among others”!!! Thank God they don’t have any vacancies in Libya…
I am sure there will be people who contact them thinking they must be the luckiest people on Earth… but please, this is my message to all cyber-crooks of the world: I strongly recommend that you watch the news in your country, read the papers or just keep yourself a little up-to-date on the current world situation… Do you seriously believe you’re going to get many people willing to work in places that might become the next Egypt or Libya in terms of revolts and social unrest?
Users sometimes fall victim to this type of scam out of ignorance or due to the lack of basic computer training… However, in this case, I’m sure they are perfectly well aware of the international situation, at least more than cyber-criminals seem to be…
What will be next? Job offers in Atlantis? People hiring space explorers for Mr Spock’s home planet?

Why not ?
We’ll see Panda software in Arabic translation. Lolz
